Good morning, morning people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 74th Birthday of Howard Bellamy, of The Bellamy Brothers. Happy Birthday Howard ! With him in mind, we spotlight their 6th studio album, Sons Of The Sun. The LP was released in 1980 on the Warner Brothers label and produced by Michael Lloyd. It peaked at #18 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and two singles were released ; "Lovers Live Longer" (#3 Country, #30 Canada Country) and "Do You Love As Good As You Look" (#1 Country, #4 Canada Country). Ricky Skaggs guests on the album and a standout for me is their cover of Jim Stafford's "Spiders And Snakes". We saw The Bellamy Brothers in 2009 at the historic Polk Theatre. They were the opening act for The Bacon Brothers (Kevin and his brother Michael).
