Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . It was on this very day, 35 years ago in 1988, that English pop rock band, The Escape Club, released their sophomore album, Wild Wild West, on Atlantic Records. It was produced by Chris Kimsey, known for his work with The Rolling Stones. The band, comprised of formers members of the bands, Mad Shadows and Expressos, formed in 1983 with lead singer/rhythm guitarist Trevor Steel, guitarist John Holliday, bassist Johnnie Christo, and and drummer Milan Zekavica. The yrelease their debut album, White Fields, on EMI America, and recorded their follow up, Wild Wild West in 1987. The LP reached #42 in Australia, and #27 on the Billboard 200. The record saw the birth of two singles ; the title track (#45 Album Rock Tracks, #36 Dance Club Play, #12 New Zealand, #10 12-inch Singles Sales, #6 Australia, #3 Modern Rock Tracks, #2 Canada, #1 Hot 100) and "Shake Gor The Sheik" (#114 Australia, #46 New Zealand, #28 Hot 100).
