Good morning, morning people and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we gleefully celebrate the 86th Birthday of Francesco Stephen Castelluccio, the American actor and tenor, and lead vocalist of The Four Seasons, known the world over as the one and only, Frankie Valli. Happy Birthday Frankie ! With this momentous occasion on our minds, we spotlight the April 1977 Warner Brothers release, Helicon. It reached #168 on the Billboard 200 and was considered a commercial failure.
On a side note, we had the great pleasure of seeing The Hit Men, right here in Lakeland at the historic Polk Theatre in March of 2018. The band is a supergroup, led by The Four Seasons keyboardist Lee Shapiro, is joined on stage by the actual studio and touring musicians you remember hearing on hits by Frankie Valli, Steve Augeri , Tommy James, Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish, Alan Parsons, Chuck Negron , Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Elton John, Barry Manilow, John Entwhistle , The Turtles’ Flo & Eddie, Carole King, and many more. It was a blast and we got a pre-signed CD, that I will add to the picture section of this post.
