Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we celebrate the 69th Birthday of Philadelphia born singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and producer, Eric Bazilian, best known as a founding member of the rock band, The Hooters. Happy Birthday Eric ! to mark the occasion, we spotlight the group's second record, Nervous Night. The LP was released May 6, 1985 on Columbia Records and produced by Rick Chertoff. It peaked at #12 in both Australia and the Billboard 200. Four singles were released from the 9 track album ; "All You Zombies" (#58 Hot 100, #17 Germany, #16 New Zealand, #11 Mainstream Rock, #8 Australia), "And We Danced" (#72 Germany, #21 Hot 100, #9 New Zealand, #6 Australia), "Day by Day" (#66 Canada, #55 Australia, #18 Hot 100, #3 Mainstream Rock), and "Where Do the Children Go" (#98 Canada, #38 Hot 100, #34 Mainstream Rock, #20 New Zealand).
The band was formed in 1985 and they released five studio albums and a live album before going on a hiatus in 1995. They reformed in 200l and have released another album, an EP and two other live records. They played the original Live Aid concert as well as performing at the Berlin wall in 1990. They were originally supposed to be signed just as Cyndi Lauper's backing band for her debut album, She's So Unusual , but record executives were impressed with their chops and signed them to a record deal.
