Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today marks 4 years since the untimely death of New York born actor, singer, songwriter, author and guitarist, David Cassidy, best known for the role of Keith Partridge in the 1970s family sitcom The Partridge Family. David was born April 12, 1950 to parents Jack and Evelyn Cassidy. After they divorced, Jack married actress Shirley Jones, who in turn would play the role of Keith Partridge's Mother Shirley Partridge. The success of the show helped propel the fictional family band and David himself into stardom. The family released 8 studio albums before the end of the show and launch of David's solo career. The third one is our subject of focus today.
The Partridge Family Sound Magazine, commonly referred to as Sound Magazine was released August 1971 on the Bell label and produced by Wes Farrell. It peaked at #18 in Australia, #14 in the UK, and #9 on the Billboard 200. "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" (#14 Adult Contemporary, #13 Hot 100, #5 Australia, #4 Canada) was the record's sole single.

The later years of his life were not so kind. Plagued first by alcoholism and later dementia, David died on November 21, 2017, age 67 from liver failure. His daughter, actress Katie Cassidy, said his last words were, "So much wasted time."
