STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - THE SHIRELLES - THE SHIRELLES' GREATEST HITS

Good morning Thursday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we are estatic to celebrate the 82nd Birthday of Passaic, NJ native and vocalist, Beverly Lee, best known as a member of the girl group, The Shirelles. Happy Birthday Beverly. The quartet was formed in highschool after a teacher heard them sing and encouraged them to enter a talent show. The original line up consisted of Shirley Owens (later Shirley Alston Reeves), Doris Coley (later Doris Kenner-Jackson), Addie "Micki" Harris (later Addie Harris McFadden), and Beverly Lee. With Beverly on our minds, we find The Shirelles' Greatest Hits turning on our table. The LP was released on Scepter Records in 1963 and it peaked at #67 on the Billboard 200. The disc collects hits from their first 4 albums.
