Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning Sunday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we are thrilled to celebrate the 84th birthday of New York native, actor, comedian, composer, and musician, Dick Smothers, best known as one half of the sibling comedy duo, The Smothers Brothers. Happy Birthday Dick ! Dick, along with his brother, Tommy, have starred in two television shows, the sitcom The Smothers Brothers Show, and the variety program, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and recorded 12 comedy albums, but it is their 7th release which is our focus today. Aesop's Fables: The Smothers Brothers Way was released March 15, 1965 on the Mercury Records and was arranged, conducted and produced by David Carroll. The LP peaked at #57 on the Billboard 200. On it we hear the Brothers bicker back and forth in song and story while discussing the morals laid forth by the Greek fabulist.
