The former music director of La Scala in Milan and later the New York Philharmonic was born March 25, 1867 and died in the year 1957, at age 89, following a stroke. We honor his legacy by listening this this 3 record box set from 1981 Time Life Records, part of the Great Performers series. The set includes a 25 page booklet with a biography, pictures, and performances notes.
