STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - WARREN COVINGTON ORCHESTRA - PLAYS THE HITS OF THE 60S VOL. 1

Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Philadelphia native and big band trombonist, Warren Covington. He was born August 7, 1921 and passed away August 24, 1999, age 78. In addition to being a session musician and a bandleader himself, Covington also played with Isham Jones, Les Brown, Gene Krupa and Tommy Dorsey. He would also take over the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, after Tommy's sudden death in 1956. Today we have Covington on this album from RECAR Records, the Warren Covington Orchestra Plays Hits Of The 60s Vol. 1. I cannot find the release year, but after looking at the selection of songs he covers on it, I'm sure it was after 1965. We got this LP in a box of records that we bought off our mechanic Art. It was unopened and sealed, and then opened last night for this occasion.
