Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 67th Birthday of New Orleans born vocalist and multi - instrumentalist, Randy Jackson (no not the one on American Idol that uses the word "Dog" a lot or the one who is a Brother to Michael) best known for his work in the rock band, Zebra. Happy Birthday Randy ! To get his day and our week started, we spotlight the group's self titled debut. Zebra was released March 21, 1983 on Atlantic Records and produced by Jack Douglas, who is known for producing Aerosmith (among others) in the 80s. The disc reached #29 on the Billboard 200 and gave birth to two singles ; "Tell Me What You Want" (#107 Hot 100, #29 Mainstream Rock) and "Who's Behind the Door" (#61 Hot 100, #10 Mainstream Rock) . The nine track LP includes a cover of the 1957 song, "Slow Down", made famous by The Beatles' cover in 1964, and the Zebra version contains an interpolation of of Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes" .
