Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. On this day in 1957 the United States and Canada formed the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD). In addition to aerospace warning and control for North America and tracking Santa, the bi-national organization has been known to host The NORAD Command Band. To commemorate the date we spotlight this LP, Songs From NORAD Volume II. I cannot find a date associated with this release but other albums from NORAD were released in the 60s. It is not on label and the jacket states US Government Property - Not For Sale. Side one sees the band ease us into some smooth jazz and was a great follow-up to yesterday's Enoch Light selection, while Side 2 is more of a military marching theme. The affair is conducted by Major Mark Azzolina.
