STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - FERRANTE AND TEICHER - HOLIDAY FOR PIANOS

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Yesterday (09/19/23) marked the 14th anniversary of the passing of New York pianist, Arthur Ferrante, best known as one half one the piano duo Ferrante & Teicher. Ferrante was born September 7, 1921 and passed away in 2009, age 88. He met Louis Teicher while studying at the Juilliard School of Music in New York in 1930. The pair would create music for 40 years together, releasing over recorded 150 albums, 22 gold and platinum records and selling 90 million records worldwide. They also performed 5,200 concerts before retiring in 1989. Today we have them on this LP, Holiday For Pianos. The record was released in 1963 on the United Artists label and produced by Leroy Holmes. Louis Teicher was born August 24, 1924 and passed away August 3, 2008, age 83.
