STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - USA FOR AFRICA - WE ARE THE WORLD

Good morning Sunday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . During this week in 1985, the stars who would comprise the charity supergroup, United Support of Artists for Africa (USA for Africa), got together in Los Angeles, to record the video for their hit single, "We Are the World". That song, produced to fight famine and disease in Africa, would inspire an album's worth of superstar collaborations. The album, also called We Are The World was released April 23, 1985 on Columbia Records,  and produced by Quincy Jones. It peaked at #32 in the UK, #8 in Germany, #6 in Australia and New Zealand, #5 in Austria, #4 in Sweden, and #1 in the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and on the Billboard 200. It has been certified 3X Platinum in the US. It's singles were the title track (#76 Hot Country Songs, #27 Mainstream Rock, #3 Denmark, #2 Austria, Germany, and #1 Australia, Belgium, Canada Top Singles, Canada Adult Contemporary, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Dutch Top 40, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary,  Hot Black Singles,  Hot Dance/Disco 12 Inch Singles Sales, and the Cash Box) and "Tears Are Not Enough" (#1 Canada).

The inside record sleeve serves as a catalog and the merchandise order form is still intact.
