Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning gang and welcome back to the return of Saturday's Singles. Our first selection comes to us via Scottish funk and R&B group, Average White Band. Their former keyboardist, Roger Ball, is celebrating his 78th Birthday today and we serenade him with song by spinning the title track to AWB's fourth studio recording, Soul Searching. Happy Birthday Roger ! "Soul Searching" was released June 24, 1976 on Atlantic Records and produced by Arif Mardin. It peaked at #4 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart and features "A Love Of Your Own" as it's B-side.

Our second selection comes in the form of the song, "Listen People", by English beat/pop/rock band, Herman's Hermits, as we observe the 28th anniversary of death of lead guitarist, Derek Leckenby, who died in 1994, age 51, from non-Hodgkin lymphoma. "Listen People", from their 5th album, Both Sides Of Herman's Hermits, was released February 1966 on the MGM label and produced by Mickie Most. It reached #7 in Sweden and New Zealand, #3 in Australia and on the Hot 100, and #1 in Canada. It's flip side is "Got a Feeling". We had the great fortune to see Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone, in October of 2016, at Lakeland's very own, Youkey Theatre. Peter said (tongue in cheek) that it had been his life's dream, to play the Youkey. It was a great show, I even missed the premiere of The Walking Dead to attend it ....
Peter Noone – lead vocals
Derek Leckenby – lead guitar
Keith Hopwood – rhythm guitar, backing vocals
Karl Green – bass, backing vocals
