Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. Our first selection is by  French orchestra leader, Paul Mauriat  (Paul Julien André Mauriat). He was born in in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France on this day in 1925 and passed away November 3, 2006, age 81, from leukemia. Today he would have turned 98. With him in mind, we spotlight the single, "Love In Every Room (Même Si Tu Revenais)". It was released in 1968 on the Philips label and it peaked at #60 on the Hot 100 and #7 on the Adult Contemporary charts. It's flip side is "The English Nightingale (Le Rossignol Anglais)".

Our second single is by Native American swamp rock band, Redbone. Their guitarist/ vocalist, Lolly Vegas (born Candido Albelando Vasquez-Vegas) was born in Coalinga, California, on October 2, 1939 and passed away on March 4, 2010, age 70 from lung cancer. We honor his legacy today by spinning the 1974 Epic Records release, "Suzie Girl". It reached #8 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and also reached #8 in New Zealand. Our copy is quite interesting as it is a 'Radio Station - Not For Sale'  copy with with a Mono mix of "Suzie Girl" with an orange label and on the other side has a white label with the Stereo version of the song.
