Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles, a Birthday edition. First up under our celebratory candles is singer Bill Pinkney, often considered to be the last surviving original member of The Drifters. He was born August 15, 1925 and passed away on Independence Day in 2007. He was 81. Today would have been his 95th Birthday. To honor his legacy, we spotlight this double A-sided single, which houses "There Goes My Baby" (#2 Hot 100, #1 R&B) on one side and "Drip Drop" (#58 Hot 100) on the flip side. Those tracks were respectively released in 1959 and 1957 on the Atlantic label and our copy is on the Atlantic Oldies Series.
