Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 74th Birthday of bassist and founding member of both Sly And The Family Stone and Graham Central Station, Larry Graham. Happy Birthday Larry ! To get the party started, we find ourselves spinning Greatest Hits, by Sly And The Family Stone. The LP was released November 21, 1970 on the Epic label and produced Sly Stone. It reached #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the R&B albums chart. It has been certified Quintuple Platinum in the US. The record collects all the singles and charting B-sides from Dance to the Music (1968), Life (1968), and Stand! (1969), even though sometimes the versions presented here, are not the single or album versions. "Hot Fun In The Summertime" (#3 R&B, #2 Hot 100) and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" (#1 R&B, Hot 100) were re-released as singles.
