STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - BARBRA STREISAND - LIVE CONCERT AT THE FORUM

Great Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we are thrilled to wish Brooklyn born singer, actress and director, Barbra Streisand, a very Happy 81st Birthday. Happy Birthday Barbra ! she was born April 24, 1942 to parents Diana Ida, a a school secretary, and Emanuel Streisand, a high school teacher. With her in mind, we spotlight her second live record, Live Concert at the Forum. The LP was recorded April 15, 1972 at The Forum in Inglewood, California,  as part of the Four for McGovern concert, to raise money for George McGovern's 1972 Presendential run. It featured  Streisand, Carole King, James Taylor, and Quincy Jones and his Orchestra. Barbra's set was released October 1, 1972 on the Columbia label and produced by Richard Perry. It reached #19 on the Billboard 200 and #17 in Canada and yielded three singles ; "Sweet Inspiration / Where You Lead" (#41 Cash Box, #37 Canada, Hot 100, #15 Adult Contemporary) ,  "Sing / Make Your Own Kind of Music" (#94 Hot 100, #28 Adult Contemporary,#25 Canada Adult Contemporary)  and "Didn't We" (#82 Hot 100, #65 Cash Box, #46 Canada Adult Contemporary, #22 Adult Contemporary) . Our copy still has it's huge poster of the album cover.
