Good Monday morning gang ( if you believe it such things) and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Jersey born singer-songwriter and guitarist, Bill Chinnock, on this, the 15th anniversary of his death. He passed away in 2007, age 59, from suicide. Bill got his start in the Jersey shore music scene in the early 60s, fronting bands that included future members of the E Street Band. In the 80s, he won an Emmy for his song, "Somewhere In The Night" after it was used as the theme song to the soap opera, Search For Tomorrow. Another song by Chinnock, "Hold On To Love", this time a duet with Roberta Flack was used on Guilding Light. During his career, Bill recorded 9 solo albums, but it's his 4th, Badlands, which is our subject of focus today, Badlands was originally released in 1977 on North Country Records and then reissued a year later in 1978 on the Atlantic label. We have the Atlantic version . The LP features Vini Lopez, Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, and a young Irene Cara.
