Good Monday morning gang ( if you believe in such things) and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Wisconsin born country music singer Dave Dudley, on what would have been his 93rd Birthday. He passed away in 2003, age 75, from a heart attack. Dave released his 26th album, Dave Dudley Presents, in 1976 on the United Artists label. It was produced by Jack and Jimmy Key. Two singles were released from the disc, "38 And Lonely" (#83 Country Singles) and "Rooster Hill" (did not chart). Dudley known for his truck driving anthems, does not disappoint here, and even divides the sides as "Uppers" and "Downers". Among the LP's highlights are a calm cover of the Eagles' "Lying Eyes" and in my opinion, the front album cover itself. It depicts an old movie theater and kind of reminds me of Styx's Paradise Theater.
