Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Before we get into the post, we'd like to take a moment to offer up Prayers to the Family, friends, and fans of Mac Davis, Helen Reddy, and Southern gospel musician Big John Hall, who all passed away yesterday. God speed.
It was on this day in 1965, that Scottish rocker Donovan first appeared on US televisions with his performance on the ABC show Shindig. To mark the occasion, we spotlight his first compilation album, The Real Donovan, released in 1966 on Hickory Records and produced by Terry Kennedy, Peter Eden, and Geoff Stephens. It peaked at #96 on the Billboard 200 and features folk songs that at the time had not been released in America.
