Happy Birthday Eddie ! With him in mind, we spotlight his self titled debut record, Eddie Murphy. The comedy LP was recorded April 30–May 1, 1982, at The Comic Strip, in New York City, and then released November 6, 1982 on Columbia Records. It was produced by Murphy, Robert Wachs, and David Wolfert . The record reached #97 on the Billboard 200 and #26 on the R&B charts. It's sole single, the hi hop parody, "Boogie in Your Butt", reached #56 on the R&B charts.
