He passed away in 2007, age 93, from heart failure. To honor his legacy, which spanned 7 decades, 21 Gold records, 70 hits on the charts and over 100 million records sold, we spotlight his 22nd album , Hell Bent For Leather ! . Hell Bent For Leather ! was released in 1961 on the Columbia label. It reached #71 on the Country charts. The album collects cowboy classics and theme songs from the westerns of the day and is conducted by John Williams. Yes, that John Williams.
