Today we joyfully celebrate the 72nd Birthday of guitarist, vocalist, and producer, John Oates, known as one half of the blue eyed soul duo, Hall & Oates. Happy Birthday John. To start the day we spotlight their 10th studio album, Private Eyes. The LP was released September 1, 1981 on the RCA label and produced by Neil Kernon with Hall & Oates. It peaked at #9 in New Zealand, #8 in the UK, and #5 on the Billboard 200. Four singles were released ; "Imagination" (#33 Hot 100), "Did It In A Minute" (#9 Hot 100), "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) (#8 UK, #1 Hot 100), and the title track, "Private Eyes" (#32 UK, #1 Hot 100). The record has been certified Platinum.
