Today  is also what would have been the 82nd Birthday of Washington D.C. born singer, songwriter, and record producer, Marvin Gaye. He was shot and killed in 1984, a day before his 45th Birthday, by his Father, Marvin Gaye Sr, following an argument. Marvin's 10th compilation album,  Every Great Motown Hit Of Marvin Gaye, was released in 1983 on the Motown label. It peaked at #60 on the Billboard 200 and #26 on the R&B album charts. It has been certified Platinum.
