Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we celebrate the 77th Birthday of Detroit born vocalist/guitarist, Ray Monette, best known for his work in the rock band, Rare Earth. Happy Birthday Ray ! We him in mind, we spotlight the group's first live release, a double album, Rare Earth in Concert. The music was recorded at the Jacksonville Coliseum, the Miami Florida Marine Stadium, New York Cornell University, and at The Pharmacy. The last song on the album, "Nice to Be with You", is a studio track, recorded at Motown . The LPs were then released December 1971 on the Rare Earth label, which was the division reserved for white bands. The records reached #29 in Australia and #26 on the Billboard 200.
