STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - SEATRAIN - THE MARBLEHEAD MESSENGER

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Not only was yesterday the 247th Birthday of the country, but it was also the 81st Birthday of Massachusetts born musician and composer, Peter Rowan. Happy belated Birthday Peter ! He was born July 4, 1942 and got his start in 1963 as songwriter, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist of Monroe's Bluegrass Boys, where he appeared  on fourteen songs with Monroe. After his tenure there he founded the psychedelic rock group, Earth Opera, with David Grisman. They were known as an opening act for The Doors. After that he formed the roots fusion band, Seatrain, Their third studio album, The Marblehead Messenger, is turning on our table today. The LP was released October 1971 on the Capitol label, and like it's predecessor, Seatrain, it was produced by Sir George Martin. The title track was released as a single.
