Good morning record junkies and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember British singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Alvin Lee, best known for his work in Ten Years After, on this, the 7th anniversary of his death. He passed away in 2013, age 68, from "unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure". To honor his legacy, we spotlight Ten Years After's third live album, Recorded Live. The double live album was recorded during four nights in January 1973 in Frankfurt, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Paris. It was then released in June of that same year on Chrysalis. Our copy is a bit of a mystery to me, as it does have Made In Germany printed on the label, but I haven't been able to match up the catalog number (6499 524) with a German pressing. This copy used to belong to Richey (we have other Richey records as well) , who invariably writes his name on the album covers, the labels, and the dust jackets... So here's to you Richey (sometimes shortened to Rich ...)
