Good Tuesday morning audiophiles and welcome to September and to the return of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember multi-instrumentalist Barry Cowsill, of the Rhode Island based family singing group, The Cowsills. Barry passed away in 2005, after refusing to evacuate New Orleans, for Hurricane Katrina. He was last heard from on this date, when he left messages on his Sister's phone stating, he was surrounded by looters and people shooting. His body was found in late December of that year and drowning was determined to be the cause of death. He was 50. To honor his legacy, we spotlight this 1969 MGM Records greatest hits collection, The Best Of The Cowsills. Both the front and back covers feature artwork of the Family, by page favorite Jack Davis.
