Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Chicago born guitarist, vocalist, and composer, Mike Bloomfield, known for his work with Al Kooper, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Electric Flag, as well as his own solo material, on this, the 40th anniversary of his passing. His death is a bit of a mystery, as he was found seated behind the wheel of his locked car. A empty bottle of valium was found on the seat, but without a suicide note and no drugs in his system, the death was ruled accidental. With him in mind, we spotlight the 4th studio album by The Electric Flag. The Band Kept Playing was released in 1974 on the Atlantic label and produced by Jerry Wexler.
