Buenos días amigos, and welcome to the Cinco de Mayo edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . As our neighbors to the South celebrate the the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, and Americans celebrate Mexican-American culture while inhaling chips with margaritas, we here at Stuck In The Vinyl Again thought it might be festive to give this Pizza Inn Presents... Tijuana Party a spin, because nothing says Cinco de Mayo quite like pizza, right? The instrumental LP was released on Mark56 Records by Southern California musician-producer and founder, George Garabedian (aka Marcus W. Garabedian). I'm not sure of the year, but I have found other versions of this album done for different companies like Taco Bell Presents ... Tijuana Taxi (1968) and Phillips 66 Presents ... Tijuana Christmas Volumes One (1968) and Two (1969), so I'm assuming ours is a late 1960s pressing as well. Mixed in with the standards lie "Born Free", "Sound Of Music" and "Music To Watch Girls By" are two originals. "Pizza Inn" and "Hot Jalapeno".
