Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 78th Birthday of Irish-American singer Danny Hutton, best known for his work in Three Dog Night. Happy Birthday Danny ! To commemorate the date, we spotlight the band's first live album, Captured Live At The Forum. Captured Live At The Forum, according to the front cover was recorded September 12, 1969 and then released October 16, 1969. Original pressings, like ours have the September date printed on it, however in lead singer Chuck Negron's autobiography Three Dog Nightmare, he states the actual performance date as July 14, 1969. Regardless, the LP was released on the ABC Dunhill label and produced by Richard Podolor. It peaked at #6 in the US, #4 in Canada, and has been certified Gold.
